Chroma Demos New EV Wireless Charger Test Platform
Chroma ATE Inc. will be displaying an all new electric vehicle wireless charger test platform at TAITRONICS 2017. EV wireless charging technology will bring significant changes to the industry as it provides convenience to the user, eliminates excessive wear to the charge connector, and greatly reduces risk of electrical shock. Wireless charging technology has been in development for many years and has proved itself in low-power devices. Bringing fast charging solutions to market for high power EV batteries requires high precision, high efficiency test equipment.
High Power Application / Dual Mode Switching Battery Module
In order to meet today’s market requirements for high voltage and high power applications, the battery module specifications must be developed toward the increment of string numbers and power capacity. The newly launched Chroma 17216M-10-6 is a high precision (±0.02%F.S.) programmable charge/discharge tester with multiple current ranges (200uA/6mA/200mA/6A) that can accurately apply voltage/current signals to measure the small differences of a DUT (device under test). It also has features of high response speed and high sampling frequency with adjustable voltages providing -5V~+5V, 0 ~ +5V and 0 ~ 10V three measurement ranges for selection that can be widely used in half battery / battery cell, super capacitor and lithium ion capacitance tests. Operating with Chroma’s powerful Battery Pro software, the tester enables the user to perform material analysis, performance testing, dynamic waveform simulation and specification screening on the DUT.
Battery Cell Insulation Test
The traditional insulation test of a battery cell is to measure the leakage current in the final testing phase to determine whether the internal insulation is good. However, it does not detect if partial discharge has occurred during the entire testing process. Chroma 11210 Battery Cell Insulation Tester performs partial discharge detection during the Charge – Dwell – Test process, and then integrates with the final leakage current measured results to evaluate the battery cell’s internal insulation status. The tester allows the user to use the partial discharge phenomenon that occurred during the testing process as criteria for determining the battery cell quality.
The Newest High Voltage Photovoltaic and Microgrid Test Solution
The development of photovoltaics and microgrids are heading towards distributed photovoltaic power generation and energy storage / smart inverter systems.
